Scout Programs
THE GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT
February 13th from 9-11AM and 1-3PM
at Fern Hollow Nature Center
The Great Backyard Bird Count is an annual event that engages bird watchers of all levels in counting birds and reporting their results to create a mid-winter snapshot of the numbers, kinds and distribution of birds across the continent.
Fern Hollow Nature Center will host a day of scout programs based on the Great Backyard Bird
Count. Scouts will get to meet live education birds from Wildbird Recovery, make a birdfeeder
for their own yard and help gather Bird Count data at the Fern Hollow feeders!
9:00 – 11:00am for Daisy, Brownie and Cub Scouts
1:00 – 3:00pm for Junior, Cadette and Boy Scouts
Program cost is $7 per scout (includes a badge)
Recieve $2 off if you donate supplies to Wildbird Recovery!
Wildbird Recovery Supplies: good quality birdseed, paper towels, good quality tight looped bath towels, white vinegar, Lowes or Walmart gift cards, money
