We will be looking for frogs\, toads\, tadpoles\, birds\, and all sorts of other wildlife. Let’s see all the life that Winter has been hiding from us! \nVernal pools are small ponds of water that form in wooded areas after the snow melts in the early spring. DESCRIPTION:The 6-week drop-off program for bathroom-independent pre-schoolers ages 3-6 starts March 25th\, 2026. All sessions will take place at The Ohio Township Community Park at 325 Nicholson Rd\, Sewickley\, PA 15143\, while we prepare for our renovation. A generous grant from the Union Aid Society is available to provide financial assistance to Quaker Valley School District residents in need. \nEach week of Explorers is a unique blend of hikes\, nature lessons\, and play that also foster early learning skills using the natural world\, but with content geared towards older Preschool and Kindergarten-aged children. All explorers must be fully bathroom independent. \nChildren should come dressed according to the weather\, bring a reusable water bottle\, and a nut-free snack. DESCRIPTION:Little Sewickley Creek Trout Stocking\nApril 8 • 4:30pm • Walker Park Shelter #3 \nCelebrate one of Sewickley’s longest running annual traditions: stocking trout in Little Sewickley Creek! Since the 1950’s\, we have been gathering to help Sewickley Valley Conservation Association stock high quality trout in our special waterway. \nPlease bring a clean\, 5-gallon bucket to Shelter #3 to help transport and release the little brown trout into the stream. We will place the trout in the bucket and then release them into Little Sewickley Creek\, so we need to make sure we provide a clean bucket with fresh water for the fish. \nNo registration is required for this free event!
