About Us
Fern Hollow Nature Center is a nonprofit environmental education center serving the Quaker Valley and surrounding communities. We provide nature-based programs, community events, and school partnerships designed to foster environmental awareness and connection to the natural world.

Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented individual to assist with our online marketing and communications. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional with basic experience in Canva, WordPress, and social media platforms. You’ll help keep the public informed by maintaining our website, creating program registration forms, and promoting events online.

Location & Pay
Hybrid (Some onsite hours preferred at Fern Hollow Nature Center – Sewickley, PA)
Up to 18 hours/week | $20/hour

Key Responsibilities
•  Website Updates
   – Keep program information current on our WordPress website
   – Create and update program registration forms (via third-party platforms such as LGL Forms)

•  Social Media Support
   – Design and post graphics for programs and events on Facebook and Instagram
   – Monitor engagement and adjust posts as needed

•  Content Organization
   – Gather and organize information from internal teams (emails, shared docs, calendars)
   – Maintain consistency in program descriptions, branding, and links across platforms

•  Light Graphic Design
   – Use Canva to design promotional graphics, event flyers, and social content
   – Follow brand guidelines and templates

Qualifications
•  Strong working knowledge of Canva and social media platforms (especially Instagram and Facebook)

•  Familiarity with WordPress or another CMS (no coding required)
•  Knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus
•  Ability to manage multiple small projects with attention to detail
•  Good communication and time management skills
•  Self-directed and comfortable asking for clarification when needed
•  Interest in nature, environmental education, or nonprofits is a plus
•  Must be willing to obtain the following clearances to work with children:

    • Act 34 (Pennsylvania State Criminal History Record)

    • Act 151 (Child Abuse History Clearance)

    • FBI Fingerprint Clearance
