Join Us in Writing the Next Chapter of Fern Hollow
After more than 30 years as Sewickley Valley’s dedicated home for nature education, the time has come to honor that legacy by building a new facility to support and inspire the next generation of stewards.
The community’s demand for outdoor programming opportunities has grown and has outmatched our classroom capacity. That’s why we’re so excited to launch Fern Hollow Forever, a fund that will renovate the existing center space and add a 1,200-square-foot addition to provide greater capacity for nature education.
This project will:
- Create more educational opportunities for the community. From more family hiking tours to adult classes on caring for plants, and summer camps for the kiddos, the new space enables us to meet the demand for nature education.
- Make Sewickley’s nature home more accessible. The outdoors are for everyone. This project will improve access for neighbors with mobility challenges and create a more inclusive, welcoming environment for neurodivergent individuals.
- Make the space more sustainable. Energy efficiency and eco-friendly practices will help us preserve the incredible natural resources surrounding the property and beyond.
- Create more for you to explore on your visit. From a reconfigured entrance and lobby exhibits, the remodel will help make the experience the best it can be whether you’re visiting for a hike or to take a class.
By helping fund this project, you help improve stewardship of one of Sewickley Valley’s largest green spaces and provide enhanced nature education for our community. We hope you’ll make a commitment to the space that will be here to enjoy for this generation and the next.
give todayWe Need Your Help to Sustain Fern Hollow Forever
Can you help us meet our goal to provide the education and green space our Sewickley community deserves? We’ve secured commitments to kick-off the project and are working hard to get additional grant funding. We’re now looking to our neighbors to help bridge the gap and get this project to completion. Your generous gift will make it possible for the center to continue to grow for our neighbors today and tomorrow.
Donor Recognition Levels
