The Unique Flora and Fauna
of Hawai`i

with Expert Dr. Richard Palmer

Join Dr. Richard Palmer as he gives an in-depth look at the natural history of the islands of Hawai`i. He will discuss the formation of the islands, how their isolation led to unique colonization by many species of plants and animals, and will also cover the evolution of many species of Hawai`ian plants, birds, and invertebrates. He will also touch on issues facing the islands, such as extinction, human colonization, and human impact on the environment. There will be a brief Q&A following the lecture.
