Winter Sowing Workshop

A simple method of starting seeds in enclosed containers

The local community is invited to join staff from Fern Hollow Nature Center and Big Sewickley Creek Watershed Association, in collaboration with Bell Acres Mayor, Ken Alvania, to learn more about the basics of Winter Sowing: a simple and successful method of starting seeds in enclosed containers outdoors.

As part of the Mayors’ Monarchs pledge, all participants will have an opportunity to start their own winter sowing jug of native milkweed seeds to take with them.
